Here are some cool and useful sites on the World Wide Web. I think these are the best sites of 1997. World Wide Web

  • GeoCities GeoCities
A great place to put up a website. It's comforting to know they are going to be around forever.
  • AltaVista
If you want to find a site on the web, AltaVista is the best search engine there is.
  • Britannica Online
You have to subscribe to get access to all the articles but it's not like there will ever be a free online encyclopedia.
  • AOL
America Online is better than either Prodigy or CompuServe. And you probably have the floppy disks or CD-ROMs to install it.
  • Windows 95 Shareware
A site with lots of fun and useful Win95 software.
  • Sci-Fi Channel: The Dominion
Lots of classic and new science fiction shows are on here.
  • Billboard Hot 100
A list of this week's most popular songs. See where Puff Daddy, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Hanson, and Mariah Carey are on the chart.
  • The Simpsons
Cowabunga! It's hard to believe this show has been on the air for seven years already.
  • Yahoo!
Yahoo organizes web sites by category. It's the on-ramp to the information super highway.
  • Apple Computers
One of my friends loves his PowerBook 2400c, but I'm concerned the company might not be in business much longer.
  • US Robotics
With their newest modems, you can connect at 56Kbps over standard phone lines. How awesome is that!
  • The CBORD Group Inc.
Last but not least I have to include where I work.
