Both Bill Paxton and Bill Pullman appeared separately in several popular movies in the 1990s. Even though they don't look a great deal alike, I sometimes found it difficult to remember which Bill appeared in which movie. Instead of their name, I would say "the one who was the President in Independence day" or "the guy who was captain of ship looking for the Titanic". After discussing this with friends, I found out mistaking Bill Paxton and Bill Pullman is more common than I thought.
